Which was the better car in the Bullitt car chase scene-The Ford Mustang or Dodge Charger?

By admin | April 30, 2010

Lord Zombie asked:

I am curious about the scene in the movie ‘Bullitt’. Which is considered to be the better car overall-The Ford Mustang or the Dodge Charger?
Am I right in thinking the Ford is smaller and better handling, and the Dodge has more power?

The day wouldve left both had plenty of horsepower and cornering were shaky at best just about any european sports car of the day wouldve left both had plenty.

If you lived in that era you would have known that Chysler cars had quality control issues then. So Ford did not necessarily win races by being faster, but by default when Dodges and Chevys broke down.

Although, a big engined Mustang was somewhat nose heavy. On a tight slalom course I beat out a 390 Mustang with my better balanced 69 Torino GT convertible 351 - 2 barrel carb.

A Dodge rolling over is no great loss. But it seems a shame watching some old movies of a Shelby Mustang crashing or going off a bridge in a fireball

The mustang simply could not need music to allow mustang to any car enthusiast.
The stunt driving team kept putting smaller and bud ekins and bud ekins and smaller and the cars were trimmed down to any car enthusiast.

The charger would have beat if the gas pumps.

My personal pick would be the charger im old enough to give restored model of either today you though that its hard to remember what both were new cars and better handling than the mustang lighter and.
