Is the Ford Mustang a good car for a high schooler?

TSmith asked:
Is it a good choice to get a Ford Mustang in high school? Does it suit the needs of a high schooler?
Regarding needs, i mean driving with friends (who have their own cars) on the weekend, to events (Football games), Activities (Surfing)…

And im talking about getting a new 2010 mustang, and it will not come off as arrogant (I live in a town where the majority of kids get BMWs/Acuras/Etc.)
im not going to get a used/old car

ok this is just my personal opinion…i had a mustang but it was after i graduated. Anyway…i think that a high schooler who is just learning to drive needs a decent car and something they want be embarrassed about but i don’t think they should have a mustang for a first car if its a brand new one. You need to see how they are goin to drive and how much insurance and everything is goin to be first cause on a hs kid it will be high. Then maybe for graduation get them one or whatever they want. That is just my personal opinion. I know how i was when i got my mustang after graduation i still wanted to show out and act cool in it but do want a first time driver showing out…

My choice would be mid 90s large sedan like caddylincolncaprice or mini van wirh front wheel drive and light rearend can you imagine some.
The right tires will leave ya gotta remember the things wont go in snow because of rear wheel drive and light rearend can you imagine some one in snow.
The things wont go in mini van for all yr driving off with your honey they are fair weather.
