How much would you expect to pay for a 1978 Ford Mustang?
Mandy asked:
We (my husband and I) have came across a 1978 Ford Mustang. It has all of it’s original parts. It only needs to be restored. It has been sitting beside a garage for the last 5 years in neglect. The only parts that are outside is the car itself, covered with a tarp. The rest of the parts (engine, interior, ect. ) are in a covered trailor. Also my husband seems to think that there is a possibility that this car is a 1978 King Cobra. We were told that it is a 1976. But from what we have researched are pretty possitive that it is a 1978. And due to the fact that it has a 302 from the factory is what is making us belive that it is the King Cobra. My question is how much would you pay for this if it was your find?
In 2 years this car will have reached it’s 30 yr mark. Which will make it a classic. We are pretty sure that it is a 1978 King Cobra. It is the only year that ford made them and there were only just under 5,000 cars made. The guy who owns it now..Thinks it is a 1976? Not sure if he is right or not. But from what my husband thinks is that It does have the hood emblems along with the scoop. The guy is only asking about 1000 for it. I was just wanting to know if anyone out there thinks that this is a good buy?

I didnt like the way they felt driving down the road . You might want to sit behind the wheel and see if you feel cramped before buying it . You might want to pass and buy a model you feel better in.
Rule # 2 , you will spend atleast twice the money you think you will , does the motor and trans work ?
Have fun with it if thats the way you go. It sounds like you could buy it and resell it after you slaped all the parts back on and make a small profit.
