Ford Mustang?

darkchaos1578 asked:
I’m thinking about buying a 1990 something Ford Mustang for my 16th birthday. I know a lot of you are probably going to say “That’s not something you should get as a first car” please spare me those comments. All I really want to know, is about what my insurance will be. I won’t be getting a GT version, so it will have a 6 cyl. prob. around 140-160 hp. If anyone can give me an approx. guess on what my insurance will be, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, what do you guys think of Mustangs?
Thanks to all who answer =D

i wouldn’t say getting a mustang is bad for a first car but if you go to this website: they will give you a price of all the insurance people for your car.

Mustangs? Nice ride! —– Insurance varies by state….. If it has an 8 cylinder then plan on paying double for insurance…. So many people wrap those around trees and such that they charge more for the V8 models to discourage youth from owning one…. Get a V6 model and the price will be lower…..

Mustangs are awsome. My brother has a mustang gt…its…um….i think its an 03 gt. Its slightly dark red…looks awsome, and we got it for only 20k dollars. There nice looking, easy to handle, and etc. Only thing is, dont get leather, my bro got leather, and whhen its summer….it burns like hell. My freind had this old mustand, which looks nice also, but his dad took it from him and bought him a nice looking buick. A really old one, that looks really awsome.

mustangs are one of the best cars out but the v6 kills it not a good ford motor and your insurance will be high because it is a sports car like 250 a month

I bought a 1991 Ford Mustang New. Ford had a really good offer for those of us returning from Desert Storm. It too, had a V6. Overall, the car was reliable. Had a few electrical problems. Owned the car until 2002. As far as insurance , it will depend on your age, driving record and deductible for coverage. My insurance was modestly priced.

First are you needing full insurance or only PLPD?
You should call a few insurance companies to get quotes because everyone is handled differently in insurance. The Mustang (GT or not) in considered a sports car and thus with that and your age expect it to be rather high.
I pay around $150 a month for my Mustang, but that is with full insurance, $500,000 Liability and I over 21 (thus a better rate).

I love Mustangs, I’m a hard core Mustang enthusiast! I am a proud owner of one. Mine is the 1999-2004 body style though, so it looks like this: , that’s my body, different color of coarse though, mine is a dark green. 5 speed too, just love my Mustang! Got some new custom exhaust on there not too long ago too!
Anyhow, yea I think the insurance is generally around $220 to $250 a month for mine. I’ll have to look again. Maybe it’s even lower. It’s high overall, but not horribly bad.

It depends on the insurance company, your grades and your parnets’ records. In all reality, the insurance for a Mustang with a new driver (even if is only the base model) will be high. The idea behind getting a Mustang is that it is a preformer and that you will drive it as such.

Since insurance rates vary by locale it would be best to go to a website like insure.com and get a quote, as far as the mustang goes AWESOME I have owned 11 mustangs and have loved them all!

Go to some websites and get some quotes. Mustangs are good cars and if you dont get a v8 your insurance shouldnt be too high.
