And I am not talking about a junker, I already picked out a :

My little brother has a 2002 Mustang that he plays around on (he wants to open a detail shop) and these are the books he always has laying around the house….

Ford Mustang: 1994 through 2003, Chilton’s Total Car Care Repair Manuals

There are tons of books, websites, and videos out there about the Mustang. It is an American Icon; not just a car. Since you know what year/model you are interested in, it should make it easier for you to find the info that you are looking for. Reading Chilton’s manuals and other books will give you the basic knowledge if that is all you are looking for, but if you really want to know all about you car then here is my suggestion.
Find a local Mustang club and join it. You will be amazed at all you can learn from these fanatics. As well as all the parts and sources you will be able to find. Also, find out what engine is in the Mustang that you want. Then go to the nearest scrap yard and buy one (out of a total or scrapped one). Take it home with you Chilton’s manual and put it on an engine stand. Now rebuild it from the block out using your Chilton’s manual as you go. Not only will you have a spare engine when you are done; you will have one that you will be proud of and offers any ‘advantages’ that you want in it.

If it is something you are interested in; this is a great project to take on with you Dad/older brother. It will bring you closer together as you both learn and show your family how serious you are as well. That is my 2 cents for you…

Here is a good overall website to help you find info:

If you are rich why would you buy a Ford Mustang? This is a junker. Most likely you are buying a car that was once a rental, not guaranteed, but it is a good chance.
You should get the VIN# and go on carfax to look it up, and I bet you will find something you weren’t bargaining for.
Also, if you are rich and your parents want you to learn about cars, then maybe you should get a car that has a 5 speed (manual trans). Is this car you are looking at a manual trans? I doubt it. The only good thing about this car, and you being rich is… you won’t care when you go to sell it 5 years from now and its almost worthless, cuz nobody wants a used up 10 year old V6 mustang. They might….. if it had a V8, a 5 speed, less than 60,000 miles on it, was gararged, and had a new top. I’m trying to tell you that you should get a car that is better for you, one that won’t cost you a arm and a leg for insurance, and will be fun to fix up.
That is the idea behind the Honda Civic craze, cheap to drive, insure, and high resale, with a million parts available.
If you want to go american you don’t have many choices, but here is a few that you could have fun with:
    85 buick gnx
    83-91 chevy monte carlo v8
87-98 Mustang GT or 5spV6… insurance risk however
97-2007 Saturn SC2 and ION redline
    85-87 Toyota Corolla sr5-GTS coupe
    92-96 Honda Civic EX 5speed

and don’t get the chiltons manual, the Haynes Manual is better
