And what I want to know is if there is any good books or sites out there that tell you about cars ( many ford cars ) and parts and how to repair them and stuff like that. OR if you have any info that you know tell me!!!

Why would anyone ever want the v6? as far as repairing cars Chiltons, and Haynes are the 2 big repair manuals. But reading doesn’t do much, if you want experience, buy an old car and fix it up, doing that stuff yourself will teach you way more than anything online.

Here’s what I would do. Go to v6mustangstuff.com. They have some parts for Mustangs. Also go to your local book store, and pick out a copy of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords. That may help you to find some parts as well. Go on Wikipedia, and type in Ford Mustang. You can read about the history and other facts about all generations of Mustangs. If you’re in the bookstore I would also look into getting a copy of Mustang Enthusiast. They may have some info in there as well.
That sounds great that you will be able to get a Mustang. Trust me when you get that car you will love it! I have a 2006 Mustang, and ever since the day I got it I have gotten so many compliments and people come up to me and tell me how much they love it! If you have any questions then just e-mail me. the parts stores have lots of repair manuals, I would get one that covers the car you want and study it.

if your parents have promised you this dont waste your time on a new mustang…….especially if you want to learn….. buy an older one…… i have 6 of them……i spent 20 yrs working on cars and there is nothing you can learn from a website or a book thats better learned hands on. but as was mentioned before if you have picked out a car then get a manual for it and read it from front to back and then again. ask questions where ever you can. oh, being rich doesnt buy happiness, the school of hard knocks does, this is why I have 6 of them and one of them……a ‘66 fastback is worth over 20 g’s

I agree with some of the others, Get an older car first.
My very first car was a 64 Galaxie. When It broke, I taught myself how to fix it. Get repair manuals for the car, ask guys at the parts store, at the garage, the racetrack.
There’s one thing car guys have in common, they love to talk about their cars. And remember this - Listen. If a 50 year old guy is telling you about how to reset the ignition timing on your car, listen, pay attention, and don’t interrupt with what you think you know. Chances are this fella was doing this when your parents were still in school.
Spend a few hundred dollars on an older car something from the 60’s maybe. Don’t go out and buy the resotred classic, you’ll never appreciate it. Also, since you’re rich, don’t go buy all the big tools for your shop. Do everything one job at a time. Find it, learn it, fix it.

chilton and haynes are good books for learning also get atext book from a auto shop class. but the absolute best place to learn is sweeping up behind some of the local mechs. get in some ones shop .spend time there. even your buddy’s dads home garage

Even though you are only thirteen, I suggest you enroll in a Community College that has automotive technology courses. That will show your parents that you are serious and would be a good start. Most people think you can read a book and be an expert auto mechanic, not so. Most folks that have the title of auto mechanic only know how to change enough parts to “fix” the car. Many of them do not have a clue about understanding how cars really work.
Another way to learn is to hang out in the shop of some local racers. Tell them you’ll run errands and sweep the floor for free. If they come to like you they will help you learn everything you need to know, especially if they are winners.
Money has nothing to do with learning, but desire has everything to do with learning.

If you want to learn how a car is put together-
Buy one of the Lotus (caterham) replica kits and assemble it your self.
But if you do a Mustang will seem to mundane for you.
