Ford Mustang???
darkchaos1578 asked:
I’m thinking about buying a 1990 something Ford Mustang for my 16th birthday. I know a lot of you are probably going to say “That’s not something you should get as a first car” please spare me those comments. All I really want to know, is about what my insurance will be. I won’t be getting a GT version, so it will have a 6 cyl. prob. around 140-160 hp. If anyone can give me an approx. guess on what my insurance will be, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, what do you guys think of Mustangs? In a few years, I would like to get a v8 put into it to get that signature mustang rumble.
Thanks to all who answer =D
I’m not getting the GT version now b/c of gas. I thought that might be obvious. Also, a said a “1990 something” that doesn’t mean a 1990, it means something in the 1990’s decade.

1990?? Why not just get the GT now?? It will cost you thousands less than trying to put one in.
And the V-6 in the Mustangs are slow, so it kinda is a good first car. The new Honda Civics have 140 HP and a 2500 lb body, they can smoke a 1990 V-6 Mustang. A 1990 Mustang GT goes 0-60 in 6.7 seconds, a stock 2006 Civic Si does in it the same time.
You can find a newer Mustang GT converible for cheap right now, and if you pay cash for it, your insurance won’t be high at all with basic.

That car will break down in the first week of ownership. This is probably Ford’s worst car in terms of reliability and gas mileage. It is horrible. I have driven it many times. The interior quality is bad, handling is bad.
It is very slippery in rain and impossible to drive in snow because of RWD.
Insurance is also very high even if you get the V6 engine.
Insurance will be over $250 per month.
