I got a question about my 2005 Ford Mustang (manual). When I accelerate it sounds like it is revving really high but there is no power it does then when I shift from first to second or second to third (like I should be in a lower gear but i shouldnt be). It just started doing this to me a few days ago, I am not sure what the problem is?

Slipping clutch. Get it checked out.

You might be as you are depressing the clutch it does not catch or allowg the gears to engage as you accelerate. That is my guess. Sounds like a clutch problem.

The same thing was happening to my 2000 Celica. There was nothing wrong with it, at least that’s what I had 2 mechanics tell me. Get it checked out at a transmission shop just to make sure. You wouldn’t wanna risk it on an 05 mustang, I love those cars!

If by no power you really mean no acceleration & high RPM’s, then the clutch is spent.

time for a new clutch.
