@flkendall - the reason why fords 5.0 beats chevys 6.2, is because the 6.2 is a OHV setup with 3 valves per cylinder and 1 camshaft, the 5.0 is a DOHC setup with 4 valves per cylinder and 4 camshafts, along with twin independent variable-cam timing. I’m a Chevy guy and I think Ford has built a very technologically advanced engine in a nice and powerful package. It is jsut my personal preference that I like OHV setup more because it is a more simple design. Displacement is not everything.

@flyingwildcat321 Ask SAE. Who knows anymore where any figures come from. People have seen numerous numbers of numerous cars. So man variables too. Air temperature, altitude, barometric pressure, dyno condition, blah blah blah.

@AlumarsX They’re also significantly more expensive. More investment, more tech and tuning. F1 cars can crank 1000 (as in one thousand) horsepower out of 3.0L V10’s too. I also forgot to mention they cost millions of dollars to produce, build, and maintain.

Had a 2001 GT, a 2003 Mach1 (315 HP), and a 2004 Cobra (400+ hp). There is no such thing as enough HP.

the damn 2011 V6 has over 300hp alone, so why would you ever need the GT outside of racing?

No the Mustang was the original Pony car. The first true Muscle car was the 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88.
