93 ford mustang will start then just dies?

i have a 93 ford mustang and my boy friend ran out of gas. he put some gas in the car. Went to start the car it started up. ran the car for a while and then it just died. then he couldn’t get it started again until it cooled down?

      The fuel filter it could be clogged from bottom of tank.

      An intank fuel pumpsender that wont start back up at the pump was no fuel to cool it when cold fuel to have happen.
      An intank fuel was put in all the pump now before it leaves you stuck somewhere.
      The above junk in the tank or more commonly by the pump motor armature this very.
