The original zr1 engine was designed by mercury marine by mercury marine by hand mostly.

ohv and ohc are two COMPLETEY diff motors. ohv motors has the cam in the block, ohc motors has the cam/cams in the head/heads. chevy stopped making their one and only ohc v8 with the first vette zr1 which was made by lotus. dodge never made a ohc v8 as far as i know. the new 5.0 is a DOHC motor it clearly points it out in this video

@Epotheros The 2.0 Genesis is slower than the new Si the new Si’s run 14.7 in the quarter and good drivers with a lot of practice have gotten low 14’s in the new Si stock. The 2.0 is 400 pounds heavier than the Si. The 3.8L Gen. Coupes gets around a 14.5 in the quarter due to it’s weight. I have yet to see a mid 13 stock V6 Genesis Coupe.

@Blitz0043 your thinking of pusrod. Dodge and chevy use pusrod motors. OHC motors are generaly ohv as well.

The new 50 is also overhead valve as the valves are over top the new 50 is dohc.

I’m Supra fun and ex-owner, but BIG thumb up for FORD ””DOHC”” V8 engine.
They realize that OHV suck’s, so they now can extract more power from smaller engine. Very good.
Also nice car.
